While I was in the Adirondacks this past weekend my Grandfather was nice enough to give me his riding mower that he is no longer able to use. The only problem was that I had to get it home. Luckily Katie's father was also out there with his pickup so he brought it back to Buffalo and dropped it off at the loading dock at work for me. Which left me the challenge of getting it home, luckily Dave lent me his van so I was able to put it in there and get it home.
Katie came too but since both bench seats were out and the front seat had a baby seat in it she had to improvise.
Katie and I were driving back from the Adirondacks the other day and we stopped for gas at Stewart's in Holland-Patent, NY. Now when I was a kid and would spend the summer with my Grandparents in the Adirondacks it was always a treat to stop at Stewart's for ice cream on the way back from "the city" (Amsterdam, NY). So of course I had to get a make your own sundae.
As Katie and I were sitting out side eating our ice cream when this middle age woman comes flying into the parking lot talking on her cell phone and parks diagonally across 2 handicapped spots. As she came back out I commented to Katie on how apparently she needed her twisted tea so much that she didn't even have time to park like a normal person. It frustrates me when people don't think that the rules apply to them, but my frustration quickly turned to laughter when she started her car and Kanye West was blasting on her "ghetto thumper" system.
