Here's another two-fer blog today. When I took these pictures I never thought that they would end up in a blog entry. In fact I didn't even have a blog when I took either of them, but I keep running across them in iPhoto and I still think they're funny so maybe you will too.
A Greener Shade of Blue
Many months ago I took a walk out the back door at work into the loading dock and I came across this, It's a generator with 4 par cans hooked up to it, they're not lighting anything, they're just waisting gasoline. I came to find out that the Student Association purchased this generator and wanted to see how long it would last on one tank of gas so they brought it over and ran it in our loading dock all day. Apparently their loading dock was too close to their office and they didn't want to listen to it run.
So as soon as I saw this I ran inside the building to look for anyone with a camera to lend me, it was just too ironic that SA was doing this while the University as a whole was in the process of a semester long initiative they called "A Greener Shade of Blue"
Injunuity
This photo was also taken at a place that I work, the Seneca Niagara Casino. A few of us at UB also work at the casino in our spare time, and when we get back to UB we tell stories of our casino experience. One story that no one ever believes is that their drive around man lift is from Injunuity Equipment Rentals. Everyone always accuses us of being racist, so I had to take this picture to prove them wrong.
One Brett and I found our way into the Ithaca Gun Company we had some problems finding our way back out. It seems that Brett didn't find the way the we came in to be very appealing and he felt it would be less appealing on the way out now that we had loosened up all the dirt on the way up the hill (basically we had to climb a 10-12 foot tall pile of loose fill that was situated at the top of an 8 foot or so tall cliff). So we went about finding a new way out.
We decided that the best way out would be down the gorge that is situated next to the Factory. The slope didn't look all that bad, that is until I lost my footing, then it seemed that bad.
Here's Brett standing at the top of the cliff that I fell down.

After Brett and I both made our way down this same cliff, Brett more gracefully than I, Brett noticed that we probably should have done some more investigation as we found what would have been the better solution.
While we were in Ithaca we stopped at Ithaca Falls to do some hiking. I found it really cool that there was an abandoned condemned factory right next to the falls, and I immediately thought, hey I really want to go up there, but alas they had it pretty blocked off, and I didn't think Brett would really be up for jumping the fence with the no trespassing sign. So I was kind of happy when we found our way into the factory without having to jump a fence.
I wish I had brought my camera with me, because I felt that this was the coolest part of the trip, but I'll have to suffice with the photos Brett took, at least until I go to visit Brett over the summer and make him sneak in with me again.
I've been waiting for a while to get the a copy of the photos and videos that Brett took while we in Ithaca. Finally Brett got me the CD yesterday.
While touring Ithaca, Brett and I visited a few of the great waterfalls that can be found there. Most of them have trails that you can follow to take you up to the top of the waterfall, but Ithaca Falls is a different story, so Brett and I decided to find our own way to the top of the falls. We never made it to the top, but instead found our way into the abandoned factory of the Ithaca Gun Company...more on that in a future blog.
While there we came across what, we think, would make an excellent new apartment for us, please check out my video tour:

Now I do know that Brett really stole my thunder by posting this to facebook over a week ago, but he didn't give you the follow up videos, which can be found here:

Now I'm not sure how many people actually read this blog, but what I do know is that there must be some, and I do know that one person told me that if I had an RSS feed that maybe they would use it, so since it's free I've added an RSS feed.
While I was doing that I noticed that I could add a tag cloud also. Now I've always liked tag clouds, I think it's cool to see what someone talks about most in their blogs, but when I added my tag cloud (and went through and tagged all my blogs) I realized that what I talk about most is Brett, now he is my best friend, but I don't want anyone to think anything else about us, so just to clarify We're not gay! Not that there's anything wrong with it. People's personal sexual preferences are nobody's business but their own.
Oh ... and I do realize that by talking about it I have in fact raised "brett" another font size in the tag cloud.
