We B Flagg'n

I've been waiting patiently for Brett to get me a copy of the photos and videos he took while we were in Ithaca, he hasn't done this yet so I've been slacking in the blogging department. So instead of waiting for Brett to stop being lazy I guess I'll have to pull a blog entry off my list of potentials.

While on our way to Vermont a few months back I turned an noticed this truck beside us with "We B Flagg'n" painted on the door. Now of course I wasn't ready with the camera at this point, it wasn't like I was just waiting for a vehicle with comical writing to take a picture of. So after we passed the truck I found the camera and made Brett slow down so that that the truck would pass us again, but of course I missed my chance, so I then made Brett repass the truck, but I think it was all worth it for this memento of the trip.

Walmart = Little Bit Ripped Off / F**k Sugar Free

A couple of days ago I was over at Walmart and I had two revelations, both of which seemed like they could be a blog topic, so this entry will be a two-fer.

Walmart = Little Bit Ripped Off

I was doing my food shopping at Walmart, something I don't normally do, and I said to myself hey, these kool-aid single packs are much cheaper here than they are at Tops, then I realized that the box I was looking at was a 10 pack, not the 12 pack that I had purchased a week or so earlier at Tops, when I got home I noticed that the 12 and 10 packs both came in the same sized box. I also noticed when I got home that the box of microwave popcorn I had purchased was a 5 pack, not a six pack like the ones that I would normally purchase at Tops or Wegman's. Now it is possible that Walmart is attempting to revolutionize the grocery shopping industry by putting everything in boxes that are multiples of 5, possibly in an attempt to make price comparisons easier for the customer. But I think that Walmart is trying to confuse the customer into thinking that they're getting a better deal than they really are. All this really does for me is make me feel that every time I give my money to Walmart I might be getting a little ripped off.

F**k Sugar Free

While shopping I realized that there are just way too many sugar free products. I mean do we really need sugar free kool-aid, or sugar free twinkies? I realy feel that most of the products that are available as sugar free now really shouldn't be. Now I'm no doctor, but if I were I would tell anyone who is so concerned about their weight that they would buy sugar free twinkies that maybe they should try to avoid the sugar altogether.

Muffins = Let Down

While Brett and I were out the other night we were discussing that he had eaten more muffins that day than he normally eats. Which, of course, made us start saying 'Top of the muffin TO YOU!' over and over. But once we got tired of quoting 'The Muffins Tops' episode of Seinfeld we started talking about muffin eating styles. I told Brett that when I eat a muffin I start with the bottom of the muffin and finish with the top of the muffin, that way I save the best part of the muffin for last, Brett looked at me like I was crazy for doing this. I feel that if you start with the top of the muffin and work your way down that you're really not building up to anything and you finish with the crappy part of the muffin, and therefore Muffins = Let Down.

PS Including the title and this sentence the word muffin appears 13 times in this blog entry.

Blog Topics

Lately it seems that I've been coming up with blog topics at random times and I've been forgetting them by the time I get to the computer to write something. So last night at the bar I started to make a list on my iPhone of all the topics that I thought of during the day (or at least those that I could remember). Today when I went to look at it I realized it's pretty funny on it's own, even without any explanations of the titles, and that I don't have much time to write something anyway, so here's the list, think of it as a preview of what's to come.

What Ever Happened to Predictability

The other day I was looking through my iPhoto images looking for embarrassing photos of Brett Ransom for our recent (but short lived) Battle of the Blogs. While in iPhoto I came across the photos I took last October when I went to visit Darcy in San Fransisco. On my way there I started to think of all the San Fransisco things I wanted to see, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, and the Mythbusters building, but one thing I really wanted to see was the house that was used in the opening of the popular 90s television show "Full House".

So I went to Wikipedia and found the address (1709 Broderick St, San Francisco, CA 94115, in case you are too looking to make a sightseeing stop) then put it into google maps and used the street view option to make sure it really was the house, it looked pretty darn close as far as I could tell.

So next I found the closest BART Station, it didn't seem that far, only 2.3 miles:

But what I didn't account for was that San Fransisco is an extremely hilly city and it was pretty much up hill all 26 blocks that we walked. In the end I felt that it was all worth it to get this picture:
