I was on the NBC site catching up on my "The Office" webisodes and I decided to watch some other "The Office" on line content. "A New Olympic Game" looked like a good one so I sat through the 15 sec commercial NBC makes me watch before any video clip, just so that I could watch a 30 sec commercial for "The Office."
I was indulging in some late-night TV last night when I saw a commercial for a production with a name I just couldn't believe, I was so in awe at this commercial that I dug out my iPhone to take note of the product name.
The product being advertised was a pair of sunglasses that fit over your normal glasses and "wraparound". Hence the last part of their name "HD Vision Wraparounds". Now I didn't have a problem with the "wraparound" part and I didn't have a problem with the "vision" part, I had a problem with the HD part.
Are we so crazed with the HD revolution in this country and just the letters HD will make people think that your vision will be clear.
Now the HD thing isn't the part of the commercial that bothers me, although I do find it rather dumb. The manufacturer also claims, through one of the "everyday users" in the commercial that "These glasses look like really designer sunglasses". Now this I have a real issue with because my grandfather had sunglasses that looked like this when I was in elementary school and I know that he is not a European Designer.
