I was at Burger King at the UB Commons earlier today when I saw this sign attached to the register. I would have thought about using the singles I had in wallet to pay, but instead I held on to them and gave the girl my twenty, just because I don't like when people use a 'z' to replace an 's'.
I just got back from Mighty Taco where my faith in both the younger people of he world and the management of Mighty Taco has been severely shaken. The visit started out normal, the girl at the register took my order and told me the total was $8.30 so I gave her a $20, but this is where things went wrong, she says under her breath "I hate when it doesn't figure the change for me." Now I'm not a math wiz or anything but I was able to figure out that the change due was $11.70, this didn't seem to come to her quite as easily as she bent down and search under the counter for a few seconds before finding a pad of paper and a pen so that she could do the math and figure out my change. This took her about 15 seconds and when she was finished she counted out my change and handed me $12.70. I thought for a second that maybe I did the math wrong in my head, but I quickly dismissed this idea as ridiculous, so I took my extra $1 and thought to myself, I guess that's price Mighty Taco has to pay for putting such a person on register.
